Mainframe Automated Unit Testing Starter Service

25 CREDITS

This Service establishes mainframe based automated unit testing using BMC Compuware Topaz for Total Test.

What you get:

BMC will perform the following activities in one environment:

  • Conduct a project kick-off meeting which will include:
    • Scope discussion
    • Outline of high-level plan
    • Explanation of the configuration options
    • Completion of the pre-implementation questionnaire
  • Assess Customer’s current unit testing processes
  • Review architecture and configuration
  • Prepare Test Strategy and Plan
  • Prepare Deployment Plan
  • Prepare Construction Document
  • Configure BMC Compuware Topaz for Total Test in the development environment
  • Scan source code of the Customer applications to identify compatibility
  • Create test scenarios for up to 75 mainframe application test cases
  • Establish test case automated execution
  • Integrate test case automation with compatible third-party software, for example SonarQube
  • Perform up to 10 consecutive business days of post-deployment assistance

Customer will be responsible for:

  • Providing access and privileges for BMC staff to include:
    • Read access to mainframe source code
    • Raising environment change requests
    • Agreeing on timescales and change windows
  • Performing user functional testing using the Test Strategy and Plan
  • Maintaining and ensuring back-ups and recovery files

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Test Strategy and Plan
  • Deployment Plan
  • Construction Document

Completion Criteria: BMC will have completed these Consulting Services when the in-scope Consulting Services have been completed and the Deliverables have been delivered to the Customer Project Manager.

Pre-requisites:

  • The latest versions of these BMC Compuware products must be installed on Customer’s mainframe system
    • BMC Compuware Topaz for Total Test
    • BMC Compuware Topaz Workbench
    • BMC Compuware Xpediter
    • BMC Compuware Enterprise Common Components (ECC)
    • BMC Compuware Enterprise Services (CES) 
  • Completion of the pre-implementation questionnaire
  • Having a supported version of MongoDB installed
  • Having an LPAR running supported versions of z/OS® on z/OS® compatible hardware 
  • Providing BMC with remote access to the mainframe via one of the following:
    • Virtual Private Network (VPN)
    • Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI)
    • Customer provided laptop
  • Providing secured zFS* directory space for the disk database
