Control-M Mainframe In-place Upgrade Service

Upgrade from a supported version of Mainframe Control-M to the latest version on the same infrastructure.

What you get:

BMC will perform the following:

  • Conduct an upgrade workshop to gather information about the Customer environment.
  • Analyze and review the existing infrastructure and align with Control-M upgrade requirements.
  • Upgrade all In-Control products/components running on the Mainframe system.
  • Verify that there is enough space in the basepref.MAINTLIB and ilprefa.MAINTLIB libraries to accommodate additional blocks and additional directory blocks.
  • Prepare Construction document. 
  • Remediate issues during upgrade process.
  • Complete the upgrade.
  • Switch to new IOA environment.
  • BMC will provide this Service with one of the delivery types listed below:

Customer will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in planning the Workshops meetings.
  • Ensuring availability of Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the following areas: OS, Network, Database, Control-M.
  • Providing documentation with BMC that contains detailed information of current Control-M Environment.
  • Providing access of the current version of Control-M environment via VPN or direct remote access (OS Level access) to BMC.
  • Managing OS/Network/Database/Control-M Administration.
  • Creating/Modifying custom JCLs, COBOL Codes, etc. required for third party tools integration.

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Construction Document 

Completion Criteria: Completion Criteria (non-time-based): BMC will have completed the Service when the in-scope Service has been completed and the Deliverables have been reviewed in accordance with the Terms of Use and delivered to the customer Project Manager. From delivery start date, the service must be consumed and complete within 180 days.

Pre-requisites:

  • Customer must have a supported version of Mainframe Control-M installed.
  • Maintain supported z/OS* operating system version.
  • Customer must have a supported In-Control version installed to upgrade to.
